War Eagle Craft Fair Lodging — Stay in Fayetteville, Shop the Fair
Oct 15–18, 2026 · ~45 minutes from the fairgroundsThe War Eagle Fair — Arkansas's biggest and oldest craft fair — has almost no lodging near the fairgrounds, so most shoppers stay in Fayetteville, Rogers, or Springdale and drive the pretty backroads in. LA ROCA makes Fayetteville the right base: a real house to spread out your finds, restaurants for the evenings, and one of the best fall-color drives in the Ozarks on the way to the fair.
Making a fair weekend of it
The fair runs Thursday–Sunday along War Eagle Creek beside the historic 19th-century mill, with hundreds of vendors, free admission, and $5 parking. Mornings are cooler and far less crowded — leave the house by 7:30, shop until lunch at the mill, then spend afternoons back in Fayetteville hitting the Square, the Greenway, or Dickson Street.
- 2026 fair dates: October 15–18, at the fairgrounds along War Eagle Creek near Hindsville.
- Go Thursday or Friday morning if crowds aren't your thing — Saturday is the crush.
- The drive out (AR-45 through Goshen) is peak Ozark fall color in mid-October.
- Pair it with War Eagle Mill itself — working gristmill, general store, and a beloved biscuit breakfast upstairs.
